Henry on 21 September 1926 was apprenticed to the Great Western Railway Company becoming a fitter in 1931 in the Locomotive Factory at Swindon and a draughtsman in 1932. His wages in 1933 were 70 shillings a week he resigned on 30 September 1933.

Henry died in a POW camp on the Burma Rd.
