He retired in about 1959 due to ill health.

Christopher married Lilian Awdry WILSON [1151] [MRIN: 362], daughter of Bishop Cecil WILSON [557] and Alice Ethel JULIUS [556], on 4 Oct 1932 in St Saviours Sydenham Christchurch NZ. (Lilian Awdry WILSON [1151] was born on 2 Sep 1910 in Norfolk Island. and died on 28 Feb 1988 in England.)
