That this line derives from Samuel Morris [14158] is unproven, but probable.

Arthur Morris, baptized June 24, 1778. Ensign, Kerry Militia, September 30, 1797 ; Lieutenant, April 1, 1801. He is said to have married, and had issue an only daughter. ?

That Arthur's family are related to Morris of Ballybeggan is suggested by Bessie Taffe, nee Morris, being described below as a descendant of Sir Samuel Morris.

A settler family on estates near Tralee, from the coming of the Elizabethan undertakers to the rebellion of 1641.
Descent /homeland: Of Essex.
John Morris is given in Tralee in 1909.
Joseph Morris: The grandson of the first settler of his name in Kerry, who took a lease of the lands of Urltemp Elizabeth. He died and his brothers eldest son was styled of Ballybeggan, which estate was in the possession Walter Hussey until 1639, who mortgaged it in that year to an Englishman named Exham.
Col. Arthur Morris had a youngest son, Mr. F. W. Ambrose Morris who passed away in Litchfied, England a few years prior to 1910. Col, Morris was the youngest son of Col. Samuel Morris of Lizelton House, who had three sons Sam who lived at Castle, Tralee, Arthur at Ballylongford, and George who was a distinguished officer of the rank of Colonel, with service in the West Indies 1795 - 1801. His brother Sam, lived in Ballybeggan Castle, Tralee. The Morris family are related to the Peerages of Southwell and Ventry.
One of the few members left (1910), a grand-daughter of Col. Arthur Morris, m. Mr. Taaffe, agent of the Bank of Ireland, Charleville.
One Samuel Morris sold Ballybeggan and Castle Morris to James O'Connell, brother of the Liberator, and died 1838.
In 1831 we have record of Samuel of Tralee, Arthur of Ballylongford, Wm. C, of Carrow, Robert of Tralee, John of Tralee and Lt, Col. George Morris.
Ballybeggan Castle, Ratass parish, did not surrender to the Irish Army in 1641- 3, but was burned in the war of the revolution. The new house was built by the Morris family after the revolution.
A name settling in Co. Kerry, both before and after the 1641-42 rebellion.

I have found a reference to Arthur Morris in the book by Stephen Gibbons "Captain Rock, Night Errant - The threatening letters of pre-Famine Ireland" it gives his place of residence as Aghnagram (modern spelling Aghanagram) living on 14 acres. The threatening letters establish he was a Protestant.
I then found a Mr Morris in the tithe applotment book for that townland on 14 acres and 2 roods.(http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp) .
This data ties in with that of Bessie Taffe nee Morris above.

Two of the Morris family are believed to have emigrated to the USA after a family dispute, see Arthur J Morris [20310]
