William Caulfeild, 2nd Lord Caulfeild, Baron of Charlemont was baptised on 8 October 1587 at St. Mary Magdalen, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England He was the son of George Caulfeild and Martha Taverner He married Mary King , daughter of Sir John King and Catherine Drury He died on 4 December 1640 at age 53. He was buried at Charlemont, County Armagh, Ireland He was buried at Armagh Cathedral, Armagh, County Armagh, Ireland
He was invested as a Knight on 8 June 1618. He held the office of Sheriff of County Tyrone in 1620. He held the office of Governor of Fort Charlemont in 1621. He held the office of Master-General of the Ordnance [Ireland] between 1627 and 1634. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Caulfeild, Baron of Charlemont, co. Armagh [I., 1620] on 17 August 1627. He was a Commissioner for the escheated estates in Ulster. His last will was dated 6 November 1640. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.
William married Mary KING  [MRIN: 5308], daughter of Sir John KING  and Catherine DRURY . (Mary KING  was born in 1602 and died in 1633.)
