Frederick was a watchmaker and jeweller by trade and had many addresses in Sydney in his 40 year business life, according to the Sands directory. A not 100% reliable source as it suffers from the odd misprint, however here is the list:
1861 - 81 King Street
1863 - 194 Castlereagh St
1865 - 126 King Street
1867 - 138 King Street
1883 - 401 Harris Street
1888 - 226 Harris Street
1891 - 290 Harris Street
1896 - 190 Harris Street ( possible misprint )
1899 - 176 Harris Street
1904 - Retired and moved to Dapto
There are many advertisments in the Sydney Morning Herald for his business, often using a "teaser" ad for lost jewellery, to get customers into his shop to claim, probably falsely, the lost item. It must have been a successful ploy as he continued using it for many years.
He is reported as being at 132 King St Sydney in 1870.
A residential address was Southgate Cottage 97 Upper William Rushcutters Bay Sydney
