On her mothers retirement Mary Bush Parke (1822-1901), took over Parke's hotel, her husband had opened a tavern called the Captain's Room in 1850, and later had owned Sedgwick's Wholesale Wine and Spirit Merchants. All are now long gone, but you can still buy Sedgwicks Old Brown Sherry.
