Sir John was an Antiquary, M A Caius College Camb 1764, J P for Norfolk, Fellow of the society of Antiquaries, edited manuscript of the "Paston Letters" which he acquired from Thomas Worth , a chemist at Diss, Knighted 1787, High Sheriff of Norfolk 1791.
