Jeffrey Pitman was High Sheriff of Suffolk.
Woodbridge Suffolk " Here lyeth Jeffrey Pitman, Esq. and sometime High Sheriffe of Suffolk, who died ye 21 of May A 1627 ^Etatis 67. He had two wives Alice & Anne. Alice dyed 29 of Aug 1613 Etatis 52 ; By her he had 7 children. 3 died in their infancy, William his eldest Sonne was a long time student in Graves Inn. He died Sep 23 1615 Etatis 24 : Jeffrey his second son was likewise a student in Grayes Inn and died ye 9 of Feb 1626 Etatis 24. Anne his second wife still liveth as also his two daughters Mary and Avise" Geoffrey, a tanner and haberdasher was Sheriff of Suffolk 1625 and a "liberal benefactor" of the parish He m1 Alice d1613 Children 1. William 1615 dsp aged 24 2. John 1626 dsp aged 24 3.. Mary 1647 m Edmund 1652 son of NIcholas Burwell of Rougham by Alice Curteys 4.
