bullet  General Notes:

Copy of a letter.

From - Mian Mir, Punjab. Sunday November 12th.
My dear little Min,
I am in a very pleased frame of mind so will write you at once. Got your letter about old Harvey just as I came in from hunting.
You have done absolutley the best thing for yourself and I am awfully pleased. You have a good head on your choulders and can see that married life will not be all indolence and ease, but you will certainly have the best of your life with him. He is a steady going customer and will be awfully good to you. The one man I have always wanted you to marry.
As you say, You must feel rather weird at present not knowing whether you are engaged or not. Don't make too long a show o it if things work out well, as neither of you are likely to be left a fortune and you have known each other a very long time.
All this will give you a new interest in life and will do you a lot of good.
It will seem very strange your not living always at home and I shall feel rather lost without my favourite sister.
When is he coming home again, let me knwo as soon as you get an answer from him. The Mater seems very pleased about it all. Ket ne jbow how things progress. I wish you the very best of luck and if you make half as good a wife as you are a sister he will be a very lucky man. Things are a bit brighter here now the Regt came in yesterday and it was awfully nice to see them all again.
Meant to have added more to this but no time now as this must catch mail and I have to play cricket.
Best of luck to you, your loving brother, Charles.

(this letter must have been written before 1906, which was when she was married)
