above bondsman Vere John Alston and Sarah Gofe may lawfully marry together; and that there is not any suit depending before any Judge Ecclesiastical or Civil for or concerning any such Pre Contract And that the Consent of the Parents or others the Governors of the said Parties etc. etc.

Sarah had no issue, she is buried under a ledger stone on the right under the choir in Odell church inscribed "Sarah Alston ye wife of Vere John Alston clerk died Feb 2nd 1739 aged 40

Sarah married Rev Vere John ALSTON [3043] [MRIN: 1064], son of Sir Rowland ALSTON 2nd Bart [3025] and Hon Temperance CREWE [3035], on 26 Jul 1731 in Daventry, Northamptonshire. (Rev Vere John ALSTON [3043] was baptised on 13 Dec 1685 in Odell BDF, died on 20 Jun 1762 and was buried on 23 Jun 1762 in Odell BDF.)
