He never knew his parents and until he had to obtain a birth certificate did not even know he had three sisters. Attempts are being made to search the records of the Glebe Home and the High School, in the hope some information about his past will come to light, as to where he lived and to whom he was fostered out to etc. Following a letter in May 1997 to the NSW Department of Community Services, Locked Bag 28, Ashfield 2131 NSW, requesting information regarding the history for the Glebe Boys Home a reply came back with only the following medical record:-

The document has been rubber stamped - Child Welfare Dept. B4209 - 28 Jul 1936. There is also a notation of D.B. 4.3.1927 - Prot. This would mean Date of Birth, Protestant. A further letter was sent to Hornsby High School in May 1997 and the reply came back saying they had no record of any boys as the school has always been a Girls High School. They suggested trying Asquith Boys High School, Jersey St, Asquith, NSW 2077 or another one near Hornsby called Normanhurst Boys High School, Pennant Hills Road, Normanhurst, NSW 2076.
