Further conjecture of mine re Thomas Ffenne abt 1650 and Abraham Ffenne.abt 1656. They could possibly be brothers ? both married in St Matthews Ipswich (same spelling of Ffenne) 16 years apart. Abraham married Hannah Aldred of Coddenham where Abraham, their first son, was born. Thomas Ffenne died in Coddenham in 1699 and the Suffolk Burials, compiled by SFHS, records he was a shoemaker. All three of his children were born in Coddenham. I also believe that Thomas Fenn, born in Coddenham in 1683=Mary Hitchcock in Somersham in 1705 is the son of Thomas Ffenne. We have a settlement certificate for Thomas and Mary dated 1708, moving from Coddenham to Ipswich St Peter's, in which he is declared as a cordwainer (shoemaker). Son following father into the shoe trade?
