"Sacred to the memory of Alexia Macdonald, Daughter of Captain Alexander Macdonald of Carryfluich, South Uist, a cadet of the family of Clanranald, and a wife of William Henderson of Caskieben."
She died 13 Jan, 1825 aged 36
This cross was erected by their only son, John H. Macdonald, Captain of the 78th Highlander, who assumed his mothers name."

(William Irvine HENDERSON of Caskieben [13717] was baptised on 10 Oct 1792 in St Nicholas Aberdeen, died on 30 Apr 1877 in Aberdeen Scotland and was buried in St Nicholas Aberdeen SCT.)
