bullet Research Notes:

Sarah came out to Australia in 1865 with her husband Charles Matthews. They lost a baby girl soon after arrival. They ended up in Toowoomba and Sarah gave birth to a boy in October 1866.
Mathews was jailed for larceny and Sarah went to work for Jacob Phillips as a wet nurse. Then Susan Moses died.

In the new year Mathews came to get her back and assaulted Jacob Phillips he went to court and was fined. Mathews then disappeared.

After seven years Jacob and Sarah were able to marry

Sarah married Jacob Aaron PHILLIPS [13783] [MRIN: 461], son of Barnard Aaron PHILLIPS [13640] and Clara SOLOMON [13641], on 28 Mar 1874 in Brisbane Queensland Aust. (Jacob Aaron PHILLIPS [13783] was born on 18 Apr 1832 in London and died on 20 Aug 1893 in Grand Hotel Brisbane Australia.)

Sarah next married Charles MATHEWS [26601] [MRIN: 4967] on 22 Sep 1863 in Kirkby LIN.
