Alice was the Viscountess Moore of Drogheda by marriage. In general, her marriage was a lateral move in class, but she rose six places in the order of noble precedence. This meant she would have new neighbors at formal banquets and be closer to head-of-table. As a Viscountess, she would be addressed as "Lady Moore." As a Viscount's daughter, she would have been "Miss Loftus." LP
Hon. Alice Loftus was the daughter of Adam Loftus, 1st Viscount Loftus of Ely and Sarah Bathow . She married Charles Moore, 2nd Viscount Moore of Drogheda , son of Garret Moore, 1st Viscount Moore of Drogheda and Mary Colley She died on 13 June 1649, from gangrene, after breaking her leg falling off her horse. As a result of her marriage, Hon. Alice Loftus was styled as Viscountess of Moore of Drogheda. Her married name became Moore.
Alice married Charles MOORE 2nd Viscount of Drogheda [14952] [MRIN: 5296], son of Garret MOORE 1st Viscount Moore of Drogheda [14961] and Mary COLLEY [14962]. (Charles MOORE 2nd Viscount of Drogheda [14952] was born in 1603 in Ferrard Louth IRL and died on 7 Aug 1643 in Portlester co. Meath IRL.)
