McKELVIE, Lynn Rutherford.
Retired Sheep Farmer, late of "Flock House" station. Born: "Flock House," Rangitikel, 11th Dec., 1881. Son of John and Elizabeth (nee Amon) McKeIvie, of Edinburgh, Scotland. (Born in Edinburgh in 1818, Mr. John McKelvie subsequently Journeyed to Aust. where he spent several successful years in contract work in connection with the gold diggings. In 1855 he arrived in the Rangitikel district, subsequently taking up the well-known property "Flock House") . Educated : Wanganui Collegiate School. "Flock House" was subdivided, half sold in small farms and homestead, with the balance to Trustees of N.Z. Sheep Owners' debt to British Seamen. Married: Olive, daughter of James Burns, Wellington Government Printing, 1904. Issue: Two sons. Recreations: Bowls, Wellington Club, polo, Parewanui Club. Represented his school in football, rowing and running. Creed: Church of England. Home address: 17 Mulgrave Street, Wellington.
