Mr John Calvan Porter said that William married late in life and lived with his wife, Jemima, and two daughters on a small property he acquired after the owner could'nt pay back a debt of one hundred pounds owing to him. The writer photographed the house and met Andy Tait, grandson of Jemima and Patrick Tait. He lives in a more modern house next door but there were hot coals in the fireplace of the old house as he still preferred to cook there! William died when his daughters were infants, as evidenced by the remarriage of his widow on 20 Jan 1887.
William married Jemima LYLE [30311] [MRIN: 10703]. (Jemima LYLE [30311] was born about 1857, died on 19 Jan 1932 in Iskaheen and was buried in Muff Cemetery.)
