Andrew and his wife, Anne married in 1852 and the same year migrated to Australia aboard the vessel "Kate", they arrived in Australia 16 Oct 1852. On the shipping lists Andrew was listed as a ploughman and farm labourer, they could read and write and paid two pounds towards their passage. and their religion was noted as Wesleyan (this is doubtful as there are records of this family in the Knowhead Presbyterian Church, Muff and Andrew was an elder in the Presbyterian church in Australia ref. available).
Andrew & Anne had 11 children born in Australia (the eldest named William born 26 July 1853 was grandfather of Lorna Redfern, see Source Citations page 9.
Andrew and Anne went first to the Goulburn area in Aust and met up with his cousin William Donaldson son of Samuel, who had arrived with his wife Rosanna (Burns) in 1841. William's family are recorded in the family history " Descendants of Samuel Donaldson of Inishowen District co Donegal" which document this branch of the family in Australia.
Andrew married Anne ORR [30325] [MRIN: 10709] in 1852.
