Is an iron master at Merthyr Tydvil (the Dowlais Ironworks); represented Honiton in the Parliaments of 1826 and 1830; lost his seat in 1831; has represented Merthyr Tydvil since 1832; is a deputy lieutenant of Glamorganshire.
