Lieutenant in the Canadian Navy (RCNVR is on his gravestone)
Studied at McGill, then Berkley and then Oxford universities.
Really wanted to live in England, but kept on getting drawn back to Vancour, BC in Canada by the needs of his mother. Eventually settled back in Canada.
Travelled extensively with his work, taking his wife and daughter on occasion.
