Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the name of Lucy's mother. Her personal correspondence and other records were held by one of my aunts following Lucy's death, but it seems they have since been thrown out as she is unable to locate them, which is a pity, as I know my grandmother kept many documents from her past. All I am able to confirm is that Lucy was nine years old when her mother died, and she was placed in a boarding school.

Dissanayake had a relationship with Raymond Julius LAYARD [1235] [MRIN: 12450], son of Sir Charles Peter LAYARD [823] and Ada Alexandrina JULIUS [822]. (Raymond Julius LAYARD [1235] was born on 22 Apr 1886 in Nuwara Eliya Ceylon. and died in 1969 in Somerset.)
