Antoinette Mary Daphne ALSTON [7584]

Major David Barbour Engaged.
The engagement is announced between Major David Charles Barbour, The Lancers, second son of the late Maj Robert Barbour and Mrs Hamilton Carter of Bolesworth Castle, and Antoinette Mary Daphne Alston, younger daughter of Brig Gen, Alston, CMG., DSO., and Mrs Alston, 10 Kensington Gate, London, W8. The wedding will probably take place in Gloucestershire at an early date.
Brig Gen Alston served with distinction in the Scots Guards and was on the Western Command in Chester from 1932 to 1935 Mrs Hamilton Carter's husband, Capt Carter, the Welsh Guards, was wounded and missing at Boulogne but has since been heard of in the hospital at Lille. It is now thought that he has been moved into Germany. As his right arm is badly injured, it is hoped that perhaps he may be repatriated.

Antoinette married Brig. David Charles BARBOUR [7585] [MRIN: 2537], son of Maj Robert BARBOUR [25974] and Unknown, on 21 Dec 1940. (Brig. David Charles BARBOUR [7585] was born on 1 Oct 1912 and died in 1988.)
