Indictment of Thomas Darcie of Tiptree, gentleman, Richard Mundon, Robert Pasfeild and Peter Whitshead of the same, John Tailor of Great Totham, Nichoss Burges of Witham, yeomen, and William Sharpe of London, gentleman, together with other malefactors unknown, for being unlawfully and rictously assembled together at Tiptree, and assaulting and beating John Tabram there,so that he depaired of his life. Indictment of William Gowers, Thomas Strange, John Shellford and Christopher Goers, all of Great Braxted husbandman, 23 Nov., kept and used "haies" for catching conies and broke into a close of Robert Kinge there called "Le Church feild" which was enclosed for the keeping and breeding of conies and killed six conies. witnesses: "Benet" Cranwell, Robert Pasfeild, Thomas Kellham. 28 Nov 1616 Ref: 70.
