In the name of God Amen
I Joseph Alston of Henny [Maj.] in the county of Essex blacksmith being sick in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made do declare this writing to be and contain my last Will and testament in manner and form following:
And first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator hoping through the merits of my saviour and redeemer Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon for my sins and transgressions committed in this life and as to my worldly estate I give and dispose thereof as followeth:
Imprimis I give and devise to Sarah my loving wife for and during the term of her natural life only all that my messuage or tenement with the field, yard, gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging and all other my houses, etc. and orchards with their appurtenances and from and after her decease I give and devise the same to my children now living as also the child (alien born) she is now [?] with and their heirs to be divided between them share and share alike.
Item I give and devise all my goods and chattels, household stuff, and implements of household and all other my personal estate whatsoever to the said Sarah my wife towards bringing up of my children but not to belong to or be appropriated to any other husband if she should marry again and I will that an inventory thereof be made and taken within one month after my decease to the intent that my personal estate may be applied according to the intent of this my Will and of this my Will I constitute, nominate, and appoint the said Sarah my wife to be sole executrix [?] desiring her [carefully] and faithfully to fulfil the same and to [...] [...] justly due and on my out of my personal estate which is to be [?].
