THE WILL of ZACHEUS ALSTON
Dated 16 March 1713
Will of Zacheus Alston of Pimlicoe in the parish of Cliderow, County of Lancaster Yeoman.
Desires that first his funeral expenses may be paid or secnred, but more particularly the L100 left by his father to Sister Dorcas.
The house, Barns, Lands, and premises now in the possession of his nephew John Riddihough in the parish of Cliderow called Pimlicoe, he bequeaths (together with all the household goods) to his three sisters Hanna the wife of James Hartley, Patience Salisbury, and Dorcas Hodgson, Widows, for their lives. Upon the decease of one or more of said Sisters her or their shares to go to Survivors.
The said House with Lands on death of the three sisters to go to Nephew
William Hartley and his heirs. Should William die without issue, the said property to go to Nephew John Hartley and his heirs.
No tenant to live at Pimlico but such as two of the three sisters should approve of. An annuity of 50/- to Sister Hanna Hartley.
L50 to said Hanna also to sisters Patience and Dorcas.
To Nephew John Hartley L100 when he is out of his apprenticeship and L5 yearly until that time to buy him clothes. Should said John die before the end of his apprenticeship the legacy of L100 to be divided between testator's three sisters and his executor.
To testator's 3 nieces, daughters of his Sister Hartley - Riddihough - Crosley and another (name unknown) L20 a piece.
To sister Dorcas Hodgson's daughter of same name L20.
Nephew William Hartley residuary legatee and sole executor.
