SIMON AND ABIGAIL
I'm searching for 2 Simon and Abigail's: Simon Fenn married Abigail Thursby at Stowlangtoft in Feb 1684, by licence. Their baptisms are the first pair of Simon and Abigails that I am searching for. They arrived in Walsham le Willows early in 1690, when they baptised their daughter Jane 1 Apr 1690, the minister recording " not born in this place". The couple also christened Robert 17 Feb 1692 and Hannah 4 Dec 1693, before the records of three burials, little Jane in Nov 1692, Simon SENIOR on 1 Nov 1719 and wife Abigail on 20 Nov 1728.

Simon signed a will, as Simon Fynn, linen weaver, on 15 Dec 1717 and it was probated on 26 Nov 1719, leaving all possessions to his wife Abigail. I believe the couple had at least 2 older children, born 1684-1689, between their marriage and Jane's birth. These occurred elsewhere to Walsham le Willows, and I believe these 2 were Simon Junior and Abigail Junior.

Firstly, Simon could only have been Simon Senior at his burial, if there was another younger Simon; his son, as there were no such-named grandsons in Robert's family 1714 -1728. Secondly there were 2 marriages at Norton, of Simon Fenn in Oct 1703 to Elizabeth White, and in Nov 1703, of Abigail Fenn of Walsham, to William Steggles/Stigall of Rickinghall Superior (my 6 x great-grandparents).

Thirdly, two witnesses to Simon's signing of his will in 1717, were this William Steggles (one son-in-law) and Samuel Canham (the other son-in-law, husband of daughter Hannah)
I have searched the PRs of parishes adjacent to Walsham le Willows, also Norton, where the 1703 marriages occurred, and Tostock, where there is a female Fenn marriage on the Marriage Index, but without success. I did try to search BTs for the period 1684-1689, but couldn't find any young Fenn/Fynn's there either.

My enquiry is: does anyone know where the younger Simon and Abigail were christened, in the period 1684 - 1689? Or when and where the older pair were baptised c 1655 - 1668 ? 4620 Ms Ellane Garside 13 Woko St., Woongarrah 2259 Australia. Suffolk Roots June 2010
