Estridge wrote to Dr Edward Liveing Fenn 27 March 1884.
Dear Dr Fenn
The short conversation I had with Mifs Julius is led me to write to Mrs (Mifs) Parson who is 94, and spent the best? half of her life in St Kitts, on a very nice family property she has. She replies " your half uncle Aretas Estridge married Mifs Julius, and a very nice person she was. I knew her and liked her very much. It must have been the president Julius that was a great person tho' I do not know what Estates he owned"
You mentioned the "Manor House" as one of them and referred to the Almanac I . . . . . you - but there is no such Estate there. There is one called a "Mansion" which probably you mistook for it. There is no Estate bearing the name of Julius - but, tho' not an old proprietor he may have owned some Estates and sold them afterwards. Certainly he must have been a man of mark and influence in the Island or he would not have been in the council, of which he was the senior member, who acts as "Resident" in the absence of the Governor.
My cousin, John Julius Estridge, a clergyman in Dorsetshire, died last year. I wish I could send you a more complete family history to gratify Mifs Julius with.
