Ellen Mary Cook (Mr Stringer, K.C., with him Mr Hunt) petition for the dissolution of her marriage with William Richard Cook on the grounds of desertion since 1902.
The respondent did not appear.
After hearing the evidence of the petitioner and her brother, his honour said that he did not believe the respondent had any real intention to desert his wife, but his absence was lengthy enough to constitute what the law termed desertion, and he must grant a decree nisi, to be made absolute in 3 months. An application by the petitioner for custody in the meantime of a child of the marriage was granted.
