Henry Blayney, 2nd Lord Blayney, Baron of Monaghan was the son of Edward Blayney, 1st Lord Blayney, Baron of Monaghan and Anne Loftus He married Jane Moore , daughter of Garret Moore, 1st Viscount Moore of Drogheda and Mary Colley , in January 1623. He died on 5 June 1646, slain by the rebels. He was buried on 6 June 1646 at Monaghan, County Monaghan, Ireland. He was invested as a Knight on 27 March 1626. He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 97th Foot. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Blayney, Baron of Monaghan, co. Monaghan [I., 1621] on 11 February 1629/30. On 24 October 1641 his house at Castle Blayney was plundered by rebels, and his wife and family imprisoned. He fought in the Battle of Benburgh, County Tyrone on 5 June 1646.
Henry married Jane MOORE [13511] [MRIN: 4517], daughter of Garrett 1st Viscount MOORE of Drogheda, Baron Mellefont [13512] and Mary COLLEY [13513]. (Jane MOORE [13511] was born in 1598 in Mellefont Louth IRL and died on 22 Oct 1686 in Merchants Quay Dublin IRL.)
