LAWN TENNIS.
A match was played at Rangiora on Saturday between the Merivale and Rangiora Lawn Tennis Clubs, with the result that honours were about equally divided. The Rangiora Club was successful in the gentlemen's doubles, but Miss Hoare and Miss Lamb for Merivale equalised matters by overcoming Miss Fuller and Miss Kate Torlesse after a hard struggle. The following are the scores . . . . . Miss Hoare and Miss Lamb beat Miss Fuller and Miss Kate Torlesse. 4-6. 6-4. 6-4. Mixed Doubles; Mr A. Lean and Miss Hoare beat Mr Helmore and Miss K Torlesse. 6-4. 4-6. 6-4.
