Has anybody ever been to Invercargill and failed to meet cheery Arthur Basil Moffett, chief of the firm of Moffett and Company?
We decidedly doubt it; for there's no better-known resident of the southern city than the Commodore of the Stewart Island Yacht Club. He knows Southland's hinterland like a book and can tell you the best fishing spots off Stewart Island. Keen to gather in the Sanders Yachting Cup for his club, he spends his time in presiding over the activities of his firm, in raising sheep for their wool and long-haired white rabbits for their pelts on Auckland Island, which, by the way, he leases, in entertaining visitors, and in yachting. No wonder he's well-known and popular.

Arthur lived in Invercargill N.Z. he was aged 79 at his death
