bullet  General Notes:

Ada (Plaxton) Atkinson 1875-? After her father William Plaxton's death Ada stayed with her mother. In the 1891 census when her brother is with Nona Quilter in Hertfordshire she is fifteen and working as a dressmaker alongside her mother. There are two boarders in the house - presumably with JW moved out there was more room to offer, one is a 23yr old printer compositor, the other is 28yr old James Atkinson, a ship carpenter. In 1897, when James is living in Devonport, Plymouth, they marry and she moves south.
Can it be the rest of the family follow her? In 1902 JW leaves the north-east and starts a new life with his own young wife in Somerset. In the 1901 census her mother is living alone in Beverley with a young journalist boarding with her, but by 1906 she too has moved south and marries again, to James Armitage, who, like her son in law also lives in Devonport.
