   Cause of his death was cancer.

  General Notes:

Herbert inherited a fine property, Craigmore, after his fathers death which became the focal point of his life for the next 40yrs. He won wide respect from the community for his farming and business skills, applied with a great deal of common sense. Herbert expanded his farming interests, owing Tasman Downs in the McKenzie Country, and an interest Mt Possession, he also held a number of directorships and was involved in commercial enterprises in Canterbury and beyond.

Herbert's will was filed for probate Timaru 14 Sept 1948.

Herbert married Gladys Marian G CLEVELAND [426] [MRIN: 61] in Sep 1905 in Melbourne Aust. (Gladys Marian G CLEVELAND [426] died in Apr 1964 in Timaru N.Z. and was cremated in Linwood Cemetery Christchurch.)
