Elizabeth March PHILLIPS [21465]

The wife of Edward Smythies, son of John Robert Smythies was Elizabeth March Phillipps, by whom he had issue, she was the eldest daughter of the Rev. Edward Thomas March Phillipps, third son of Thomas March, Esq., and his wife Susan (nee Lisle), who was a cousin of her husband. Thomas March, on the death (1777) of his cousin Samuel Phillipps, Esq., of (Clarendon Park and Grace Dieu Manor, assumed the name of Phillipps, and in 179? came into possession of his estates. His grandson Ambrose Lisle March Phillipps, Esq., who succeeded to the family estates in 1802, in addition assumed the ancient name of his grandmother's family, viz., du Lisle. Elizabeth married Rev Edward SMYTHIES [21464] [MRIN: 7725], son of Rev John Robert SMYTHIES [21443] and Elizabeth KINNERSLEY [21444], on 9 Sep 1845 in Hathern LEI. (Rev Edward SMYTHIES [21464] was born on 21 Jun 1818 in Clare Park Crondall HAM, baptised on 22 Jul 1821 in Eardisland HEF and died on 7 Oct 1891 in The Rectory Hathern LEI.)
