|Mary ALSTON
Mary ALSTON
- Christened: 26 Apr 1614, Newton Nr Sudbury SFK
- Marriage (1): Thomas SEWELL on 20 Jun 1633 in Newton SFK
Mary was mentioned for 40/-, but not by name in her Uncle Isaac's will 20 May 1625.
Apart from the unnamed daughter married to Carter whose age is unknown, all other 8 children are under 21 meaning there are no children for the first 9 years of marriage, or they died in infancy. There are no parish registers for Great Henny before 1678.
Ref: Rosemary Woodbridge-Smith.
Mary is named Maria in Stemmata Alstoniana probably from her baptism entry in Latin showing Maria. However Rosemary Woodbridge-Smith has pointed out that she is named Mary in her fathers Will and also Sewell family Wills, so Mary has been adopted as her intended name.
Mary married Thomas SEWELL [MRIN: 92], son of John SEWELL and Parnell ELLIS , on 20 Jun 1633 in Newton SFK. (Thomas SEWELL was christened about 1610 in Gt Henny ESS, died in 1662 and was buried in St Mary Gt Henny.)
