John HADWEN [32714]

  General Notes:

John was a cotton and woollen spinner, he then developed a process of extracting and spinning silk from silk cocoons rejected after the best of the silk had been taken off. Developing efficient machinery powered by steam he became an established silk boiler, dresser and spinner a profitable business at his Kebroyd mill Yorkshire.

John married Mary WILSON [32715] [MRIN: 11683], daughter of Joshua WILSON of Dean House [34093] and Unknown, on 9 Mar 1803 in Halifax YKS. (Mary WILSON [32715] was born in 1777, died on 27 Jun 1819 and was buried in Sowerby YKS.)
