Dr Titley was not the father of Mary Daniels but owned her as a slave, also her issue William by Richard Julius.
He manumitted them both in 1818

1. John Maddox Titley & William Mahon: Marriage bond, 7 Aug 1777.
Intermarriage between John Maddox Titley and Christiana Phipps Spinster.

St Christopher, to wit.
Know all men, by these presents, that we John Maddox Titley of the said island gentlemen and William Mahon of the same island barrister at law are held and firmly bound unto his excellent William Matthew Burt Capt General and Governor in Chief in and over all his Majesties Leeward Caribbean Islands in America Chancellor Vice Admiral and Ordinary of the same etc etc. in the sum of £500, currently money of the said island, to be paid to the said William Matthew Burt his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns; for which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, and each of us, or, and each of our, heirs executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents: sealed with ourselves and dated the 7th day of August 1777.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden John Maddox Titley and William Mahon there heirs executors, administrators, and assigns, and every them, now and at all times, hereafter, shall have harmless and indemnify the said William Matthew Burt his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, for ever, from all damages that may accrue to him for or by reason of granting a licence of marriage for the said John Maddox to intermarry with Christiana Phipps spinster then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in force and virtue.
