The Will of Jane Alston of Newton Widow
Dated 19th April 1695
Relict and Sole Executrix of Edmund Alston of Newton aforesaid Gent.
TO Mrs. Francis Cooke wife to John Cook of Edwardestone my executor my Side Saddle Bridle, whipp and with all the
furniture and appurtenances
All the rest of my Goods Chattells Rings, Cattle, Corne, Graine, Hay, and all my personal Estate, to make Sale of
them for Value he can get and the sum of 40s. as a legacy
TO Mr.Jonas Worley, Clerke, my brother in law 40s. as a legacy.
Also to Mr. Richard Cooke £100, lent to my late husband-out of the said Sale.
Also pay and satisfy to the Lord of the Manor of Newton Hall £62 as demanded for a fine upon my Son Edmund Alstone's admittance to lands and Tenements of the Said Manor.
And for the probate and performance of this my will I give and bequeath any overplus unto Isaac my Son with increase (if any) at the age of 21
I appoint John Cook Executor of this my last will
To my brother in law Mr. Jonas Worley to be guardian of my two Sons Isaac and Edmund Alston during their minorityes, or if he refuse to do so ; John Cooke to be their guardian

And the said Testatrix did order out of her estate 20s. to the poore of the Parish of Newton.

her husbands will suggests suggests Janes first husband was Isaac Alston he refers to his wife's son Isaac.
