Assuming Samuel's lineage as herein described, he was the devisee of the messuage named Deans in Newton which his father had a life interest in. Deans had been in Alston hands since the 16th cent.
More information is required on Samuel [391] and the ownership of Deanes. This baptism is unproven to this family IGI films 0380202 & 03 parents Samuel & Judith
