Shirley married Garrick MacDermott of Kamolet, Songhor, Kenya. Garrick was the only son of Mr and Mrs Osmond MacDermott of Jersey and was born in Colombo, Ceylon. Shirley then married William Alexander Robeson Wight, (Robbie), the son of Beatrice Mary Robeson of Kenya, and they had a son named Alexander Kingsley Robeson. Shirley died in Bournemouth, England on the February, 1986 as a result of lung cancer.
