Alice worked as a Washer up (strange as she had a Red Cross First Aid Certificate) in Naunton Park (Red Cross) Voluntary Aid Detachment Hospital in the first world war. She and her sisters were active in St. John's Church in Cheltenham - mainly running Sunday school for 40 odd years and running handicraft stalls for the church. The "Rev" Lancaster above named as an Executor, was the vicar of St. John's Church, Cheltenham.
