Edward as a young man worked for the Canadian Bank of Commerce and was sent to Klondike in the Yukon to open a branch of the bank in the goldfields.
He joined the Army for WWI where he had a distinguished career. After the war he can be found describing himself as a shipping broker.
Edward married Helen Florence LaMotte MACBETH [21009] [MRIN: 7529], daughter of John MACBETH [21099] and Constance Selina WEBSTER [21100], on 9 Mar 1895 in St John London Ontario CAN. (Helen Florence LaMotte MACBETH [21009] was born on 24 Aug 1870 in London Ontario CAN, died in 1948 and was buried in Woodland Cemetery London ONT.)
