1. Hilda Gertrude Mallard Clark: Images from her life.
Hilda as a girl, her wedding, with news report, with her children Anne, Hilda, Eileen, Joan, Richard.

DOWBIGGIN\emdash CLARK. A pretty country wedding took place recently at St. Lawrence's Church, Oxhill, Warwickshire, when Miss Hilda Gertrude Mallard Clark, only child of Dr. Francis Clark, Colonial Civil Service, Hong Kong, and granddaughter of the late Mr. Francis Mallard Clark, of the Admiralty, was married to Mr. Hugh Blackwell Layard Dowbiggin, of the Mercantile Bank of India, son of Mrs. Dowbiggin, of Colta, Ceylon, and of the late Rev. R. T. Dowbiggin, and grandson of the late Sir Charles Peter Layard. The old church, which dates from 1060, was beautifully decorated with white flowers and ferns. The service, fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. James Carter, Rector of St. Lawrence, Oxhill (brother-in-law of the bridegroom), assisted by the Rev. F. T. Johnson, Rector of Little Castleton, and formerly Chaplain of St. John's Cathedral, Hong Kong. The bride, who was given away by her mother, was artistically gowned in ivory satin, draped with ninon and Irish point lace, her Court train of Chinese ivory brocade being draped with an Irish point scarf, looped at intervals with bunches of myrtle and white roses, and finishing with a horseshoe of white heather. Her veil of Limerick lace had been worn by her mother and grandmother at their weddings. She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Gweneth Atkinson, in pale blue crepe de chine, draped over an underskirt of pale pink satin. Her pink Leghorn hat was trimmed with lace and a lace rose, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses and wore a brooch of pink rubies and pearls (the gift of the bridegroom). The wedding areakfast was held at the Rectory, and the bells rang merrily as the bride and bridegroom departed for Stratford-on-Avon, en route for North Devon and Cornwall. The bride's going-away dress was of embroidered white muslin, trimmed with lace, and a lace Coat. Her hat was white, with a crown of pink tulle, a wreath of shaded verbenas, and a rose in Barri velvet bow.
Unknown newspaper report.
