This Court doth elect and appoint Edward Alston Chief Constable of the Hundred of Babergh in this Division, in the room of his late father.

Bury St Edmunds Quarter Sessions

This Court doth order the Treasurer of this Division to pay to Mr Edward Alston one of the Chief Constables of Babergh Hundred or order the sum of L3-16-3d in discharge of his bill.

A Petty Sessions for the Hundred of Babergh will be held at the Crown Inn Hartest on Friday the 26th of this instant September for hiring and retaining servants.

Edward married Elizabeth TOLLER of Stanway ESS [3705] [MRIN: 1279], daughter of Jonadab TOLLER [19932] and Elizabeth BROWN [19933], on 2 Feb 1743/44. (Elizabeth TOLLER of Stanway ESS [3705] was born in Dec 1722 in Stanway Essex and was buried on 14 Jul 1775 in Newton Nr Sudbury SFK.)
