Moses ALSTON [4767]
- Born: 1714
- Marriage (1): Mary [4770]
General Notes:
That this Moses and Mary had the three children shown in the Pebmarsh Register is complicated as the vicar of the time failed to register their names. Image of defaced Register with damaged page in the period of Amelia & Moses birth c 1713, 1714.
M Terbrak writes 2015. The Alston baptisms were on the cusp of the church books becoming full and a new book being started in 1711. the births of the two sons named Moses who died at birth were in both books. In 1712 baptisms were registered, then the page is torn out for the years 1713 and 1714. The fact that the surviving Moses and Amelia existed as mentioned in the will, leave the only conclusion that they were born in 1713 nd 1714. baptisms were then registered 1715 upward. It looks like Moses was determined to get an heir named Moses, so I assume Amelia was born first then Moses, because the frantic yearly births then stopped for four years until 1718 when a second son Freeman was baptised and buried, and the last child Susanna was also baptised and buried 3 years after Freeman.
Some of the Alston family resided at Pelhams a manor in the parish of Twinstead ESS
