The Rev. P. H. Pritchett, of Mount Somers, has received a letter from his son, Private D. G. Torlesse Pritchett, who was wounded on August 7, written on August 12. The letter runs: This is just a line or two to let you know where I am, and how I am. I have had the misfortune to be hit by a few Turkish bullets, but I am thankful to say that I am not seriously wounded, so do not be alarmed. I have been hit in the two arms, and the bone of one forearm is fractured. It is between the elbow, and the wrist that I have had in both arms. I have also slight wounds, one on the chest and the other just above the knee. I am writing this letter in the hospital ship Dongola, which is going to Alexandria. I am very comfortable and well looked after. I shall be put into hospital at Alexandria on arrival there to-morrow, and shall be ready for service again before long. The letter was written by the Rev. Father Rees, who was one of the English missionaries who came to New Zealand, and is chaplain in the Dongola; It is the first communication his parents have had as to Private Pritchett's whereabouts since he was wounded seven weeks ago.
